New Pickleball Court Opens In Camden County

Pickleball is currently the "fastest growing sport" in the United States, a Camden County Commissioner said.

BERLIN BOROUGH, NJ — A new pickleball court opened last week in Camden County, officials there said.

The courts are located on the unit block of South Park Drive in Berlin Borough, according to the county.

"Pickleball is now the fastest growing sport in the country and now, Camden County is getting in on the action," said Camden County Commissioner Jeffrey Nash.

"Whether you’re a seasoned player or just trying something new, these courts are for everyone to enjoy," Nash continued.

The county spent roughly $33,000 converting an underutilized roller hockey rink within the county's park system into pickleball courts, officials said.

Employees made repairs to fences, installed pickleball nets, painted the court to be in compliance with pickleball rules and put up new signage, officials also said.
