A fundraiser was started for Lynne Cable, who had to stop working for chemo treatment, to help cover medical bills and everyday expenses.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Lynne Cable, a Hillsborough mother of two and Montessori teacher, was starting a new chapter in her life when she was hit with an unexpected cancer diagnosis.

Cable married her husband Mitch in October 2023 and by May she found herself experiencing stomach issues.

"It just kept getting worse and worse," said Cable to Patch. "I was like bent over in pain. So I was like, 'We gotta go the emergency room'."

In May, a doctor found she was having gallbladder issues and also found a tumor in her pancreas.

Cable said the gallbladder pain saved her life because it allowed doctors to find the tumor and diagnose her with the early stages of pancreatic cancer.

After her diagnosis, Cable had to stop working. She also just started the first week of her six-month chemotherapy treatment this week.

When asked how Cable is feeling she said, "So far? So good, but I'll see. A little nauseous but not awful just yet."

Cable's doctors are hoping through the treatment to shrink the tumor since it lies near a major artery. After six months of chemo, doctors will reassess and remove the gallbladder and some of the pancreas.

"She has a fight ahead of her, and as stubborn as she can be asking for help, she’s going to need some!" wrote Cable's brother Scott Arnold, who set up a GoFundMe fundraising website for Cable's family.

Cable's daughters Cassidy and Brianna will be entering Hillsborough Middle School and Sophmore year at the high school.

"My poor husband, we just got married. And now it's like, oh, you're taking care of a sick lady. It hasn't even been a year yet," said Cable.

The goal of the fundraiser is to help cover expenses associated with medical bills, everyday bills and help with her two daughters.
