Hoboken Farmers Markets: Where To Find Fresh Goods Nearby

Farmers markets around Hoboken offer fresh produce along with local goods that are fun to shop for in the open venues.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The goods are very good, and Jersey is known for its produce, but you've got to show up to gather them at your local farmers markets around Hoboken.

Local farmers markets, both outdoor and indoor, just keep growing in popularity. There is so much to draw us out. Local businesses can make a showing and it's a chance to sample something. Artists and artisans may be displaying their work, and there's often music.

Hoboken is fortunate to have several farmers markets where you can shop for what's fresh and local.

Hoboken Farmers Market can be found on Garden Street between 4th and 5th streets. It's been around since 1997 selling farmers' food to city folks and they're open again starting this week. Also known as the Church Square Park Farmers Market, it's open on Tuesdays from 2-8 p.m. and the list of vendors, here, is inviting.

Southwest Park Farmers Market is the newest of Hoboken's farmers markets. The Southwest Park Farmers' Market opens June 9 and will be open Thursdays from 2-8 p.m. on the north side of Observer Highway between Jackson and Harrison streets.

Hoboken Uptown Farmers Market is at 1401 Grand St. and is open Saturdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market operates through a partnership between the City of Hoboken and Bijou Properties. Find the Uptown market under the 14th Street Viaduct between Grand and Adams streets.

Riverview Farmer's Market is open Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Find it at 498 Palisade Ave. in Jersey City. It's not a municipal market but instead is sponsored by the nonprofit Farms in the Heights.
