Copper Pipes Stolen From Holmdel Sites; 2 Middlesex Men Charged

Two Perth Amboy men are charged with stealing copper pipes, wire from houses under construction in Holmdel, causing serious water damage.

HOLMDEL, NJ —An investigation by township police has led to the arrest of two Perth Amboy men, charged with theft of copper wire and pipes from two home construction sites, police said.

On Jan. 18, the Holmdel Police Department received a report of two burglaries, both to vacant homes under construction and unoccupied.

According to police, there was forced entry into the buildings.

Police said valuable copper pipes were removed, causing "significant water damage." A spool of copper wire was stolen and electrical panels were damaged, too, police said.

An investigation by Detectives Andrew Kret and Michael Nolan led to burglary, theft and criminal mischief charges filed against Christopher Guerro, 29, and Gonzalo Gomez-Jacuinde, 21, both of Perth Amboy.
