HAZLET-HOLMDEL, NJ — Hazlet has not one but at least two or more spectacular holiday light shows to delight a crowd of visitors.

At all, visitors are urged to exercise caution and common sense when accessing the properties.

Hazlet police are setting up lights and cones to assist, but safety is key and visitors should check the social media sites (linked below) for the following two shows for lots of specific information on parking and safety.

Lights On Meredith, a holiday spectacular on Meredith Way, is back for Christmas 2023, its third year, its Instagram account says.

"We at Lights On Meredith are so excited for this year's shows and cannot wait for everyone to see our updated display for the 2023 season! We have been working hard all year long to prepare the most magical experience for all of our guests," says creator Ryan Basile on Instagram.

The show, "Happily Ever After," is returning "for year number three on Meredith Way," the post says. You can check last year's Patch story for more details on Basile's lighting expertise.

The show has been playing every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday when weather permits. Go to Facebook or Instagram. The lights without the special show are on from 5 to 10 p.m. the rest of the week.

Police confirm cones and traffic barrels are out and a light tower to help pedestrians cross Middle Road will be set up. Meredith Way is too narrow for parking so visitors are asked to park on adjacent streets leading up to Meredith Way. There will be cones blocking access to Selma Lane on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for show purposes, the Instagram post says.

Police said similar safety and lighting measure are being taken on Bauer Avenue, where another spectacular, Johnny's Hazlet Holiday Light Extravaganza, is set up. A tower light will help guide pedestrians across Laurel Avenue, police say. Check its Facebook site for updates and parking information. Lights will be turned on around 5:30 p.m. and will be turned off around 10 p.m., depending on how many visitors are present, the site says.

Both sites stress safety, respect for neighbors' properties, and driving/parking instructions. Bauer Avenue is also too narrow and has no outlet to accept traffic, its site says.

And here are some other spots to check out:

  • 8 Hidden Hollow Terrace in Holmdel
  • 27 Sage St. in Holmdel
  • 17 Maacka Drive in Holmdel
