David Portnoy Reviews Hazlet Pizzeria

HAZLET, NJ — David Portnoy of Barstool Sports reviewed pizza from Salerno’s in Hazlet alongside two other pizzerias in Central Jersey.

The review, which took place on Friday, Aug. 9, was uploaded to Portnoy's YouTube channel, "One Bite Pizza Reviews."

In his reviews, Portnoy tries and scores different pizzas on a 1 to 10 scale. The videos, which often go viral, typically start with Portnoy's catchphrase, "One bite, everyone knows the rules."

Here's what Portnoy had to say about Salerno's in Hazlet:

• Salerno's received a 7.3 score from Portnoy. When trying their regular pie, Portnoy said it was "a lot floppy," potentially because of the pizza being fresh from the oven. Despite the pie's "floppiness," Portnoy said it had a "great," and "traditional New York pizza" taste.
