Hazlet Police 'Chill With A Cop' Saturday, Sept. 8

Hazlet police partnered with the RAINE Foundation and Ralph's Italian Ices, and will be giving out free Italian ices to all kids who attend.

HAZLET, NJ — You've heard of Coffee With a Cop, but this September, Hazlet police will again be doing something different: On Saturday, Sept. 8, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. they will be hosting an event at headquarters, “Chill With A Cop.”

It's similar to “Coffee With A Cop," but it's geared towards kids instead. Hazlet police partnered with the RAINE Foundation and Ralph’s Italian Ices, and will be giving out free Italian ices to all children who attend. There will also be a display of police vehicles so kids can “Touch A Truck."

That's a photo from the event last year, which was the first time Hazlet PD did this. It was a great success and they hope for an even bigger turnout in 2018.

"This is a great event to celebrate the end of summer with our community youth and reinforce the partnership the police department has with community organizations like RAINE and Ralph's," said Hazlet Police Chief Chief Philip Meehan. "It is also a great opportunity for RAINE to remind those in attendance of their mission of providing a hand up to those in need."

Hazlet police headquarters is located at 255 Middle Rd, Hazlet, NJ.
