Hazlet Woman Charged In Major Monmouth County Heroin/Fentanyl Ring

A Hazlet woman was charged with cocaine possession as the county prosecutor investigated a major heroin/fentanyl ring:

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A Hazlet woman was charged with cocaine possession, as Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago announced the results of a major investigation into cocaine, heroin and fentanyl being funneled into Monmouth County.

Detectives with the Monmouth County Prosecutor have been quietly observing the drug ring for the past eight months.

The drugs came from North Plainfield and Paterson, said the prosecutor.

Yusef Kearney, 48, of North Plainfield, and Gerson Villeda Fajardo, 47, of Paterson, sold the drugs to Kaileem Davis, 47, of Tinton Falls and Tyking Pugh, 37, of Ocean Township, said police.

Pugh then supplied the drugs to Sammie Boynton, 44, of Middletown. From there, the drugs filtered across Monmouth County, said the prosecutor.

In May, police raided homes in Long Branch and Neptune Township where police say the drugs were being stored. Those search warrants resulted in the seizure of:

  • Approximately 450 grams of fentanyl. Fentanyl can be lethal at just 2 milligrams, so the amount they found was enough to kill 225,000 people.
  • Approximately 325 grams of cocaine
  • Prescription Xanax pills
  • Six pounds of marijuana
  • A kilogram press, a pill press, multiple ink pads and stamps, cutting agents and approximately $27,350 in cash.
  • A total of 22 types of folds meant for packaging individual doses of opioids. Three of those folds have been linked to fatal overdoses in Monmouth County in recent months, said the prosecutor.

Also in May, Monmouth County detectives raided two locations in Paterson, where they said they uncovered an active and fully functional fentanyl mill. Men were inside wearing surgical masks and actively packaging the drugs during the raid.
