HOLMDEL, NJ — There is still time to play with your pup at Holmdel's Alexander Ching Memorial Dog Park before it closes in the new year for annual maintenance and improvements, and for safety during the winter months.

The park is a one-acre parcel at Bayonet Farm in Holmdel, 41 Middletown Road. It features separate play areas for small and large dogs where they can legally run off-leash. It is named for late Holmdel resident Alexander Ching, who died as a young man from cancer.

"Alex's Paw Park" will close on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024 and remain shut until the springtime, the park announced on Facebook.

"Thank you for your support, friendship, and all that you do to make Alex’s Paw Park a happy and very special place," the post read. "We hope that your holidays are as joyful as rolling around in the grass with a new squeaky toy, and we wish you happiness and good health throughout the new year."

The Alexander Ching Memorial Fund is a nonprofit organization focused on the maintenance of the off-leash dog park and supporting animal well-being initiatives.
