Holmdel Warming Center At Town Hall Remains Available

As JCP&L completes work on Holmdel outages, the town's warming center remains open for warming, charging phones.

HOLMDEL, NJ — With under 50 power outages remaining in the township, Holmdel's temporary warming and charging center will remain open at Town Hall.

Residents can come to the Town Hall meeting room and bring power cords to charge devices. Hot drinks will also be available, township police said.

Township Administrator Jay Delaney said Tuesday the help is available until power restoration is complete.

According to online updates, Holmdel had 122 customers without power as of 9 a.m. By 4 p.m. the number was 49. Monmouth County total outages are now 755, down from a high of 11,000 outages Monday morning after the overnight storm that saw flooding and wires down around the state.

"JCP&L is working to address the issues and will get crews into the area as they become available," police said.

Police said early Tuesday morning that Route 520 will remain closed between Cross Road and Longbridge Road while utility crews continue repairs. Drivers are asked to plan an alternate route.
