Meet The Holmdel Man Looking For Love On NBC Dating Show

Meet Dr. Jarrett Schanzer on NBC's new fantasy dating series, "The Courtship."

HOLMDEL, NJ — A Holmdel Township native is set to appear on NBC's new reality television dating show, "The Courtship."

Dr. Jarrett Schanzer, 36, one of the 16 eligible bachelor's competing for the hand of Nicole Remy, an engineer from Seattle. In a conversation with Patch, Dr. Schanzer said, "I went looking for love and an adventure, and maybe I found both of those things," when asked about his experience on the show.

"The Courtship" had Dr. Schanzer and 15 other bachelors transported Regency era-England to look for love. "It's kind of like The Bachelor meets Bridgeton. I mean, we were essentially taken back in time. We ditched our cell phones and had horse-drawn carriages, ballroom dancing, and calligraphy lessons," Dr. Schanzer said.

Before his introduction to television, Dr. Schanzer worked as an anesthesiologist in Miami for a couple of years, before transitioning to aesthetic medicine and nutrition. Dr. Schanzer says going on the show allowed him to take "a leap of faith" into his new career.

Dr. Schanzer dawns many hats, some of which include being an owner of his own aesthetic medicine business and growing a social media following. "I enjoy being an entertainer and I would like to do something in entertainment and education, something where I could be myself and show the world what I do in aesthetic medicine," Dr. Schanzer said about his future goals.
