The officers take the helm from longtime chairperson Serena DiMaso of Holmdel, a former area Assemblyperson and Holmdel official, who will remain on the board, the foundation said.

“I would like to express our most sincere appreciation to Serena DiMaso for her longtime leadership, friendship and passion for Bayshore,” said Marisa Medina, executive director of Bayshore Medical Center Foundation.

“She has been an invaluable leader as chairperson for many years, and we are so grateful that she will remain a board member. I am thrilled to partner with our 2023 officers and the entire board to continue this important work.”

The new officers will lead the all-volunteer board of trustees in partnering with donors in the community.

The hospital hopes to build upon Bayshore Medical Center’s philanthropic growth over the last several years, the hospital said in a news release.

Among recent accomplishments made possible with donor support are:

  • Development of the Dr. Robert H. Harris Emergency Care Center.
  • The addition of state-of-the-art technologies and equipment within the hospital.
  • Support for a variety of programs and services that enhance care for the community.

“I am delighted to welcome our foundation board leaders for 2023,” said Caitlin Miller, president and chief hospital executive of Bayshore Medical Center.

“Philanthropy has benefitted Bayshore in so many ways over the years and I am grateful for everything our previous leadership did to ensure that our team has the resources to provide the best care possible. I look forward to this next chapter and building upon that momentum,” she said.

In addition to fundraising for individual departments at the medical center, Bayshore Medical Center Foundation will focus on securing funds for critical programs, including:

  • The Pink Fund, which provides mammography services for uninsured community members.
  • Pediatric outpatient therapies.
  • Clinical education to expand the nursing team’s expertise through advanced degrees, training and certifications in clinical specialties.

The 16 total 2023 board membership includes trustees from Holmdel, Keyport, Colts Neck, Hazlet, Middletown and Short Hills, the foundation said.
