Passenger Found With Pound Of Pot In Holmdel Traffic Stop: Police

Holmdel police charge Eatontown driver with DWI; arrest Long Branch passenger on marijuana possession charges.

HOLMDEL, NJ —After Holmdel police stopped a car on Laurel Avenue, both the driver and his passenger are now facing charges, police said.

Police stopped the car on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 12:32 a.m., police said.

The driver, Ezra Wheeler, 27, of Eatontown, was arrested, charged with driving while intoxicated.

Further investigation during the stop led to the arrest of his passenger, Zhahiem Spann, 27, of Long Branch, for possession of over a pound and a half of marijuana with intent to distribute, police said.

Wheeler was charged with multiple motor vehicle offenses and released, police said.

Spann was charged with possession and intent to distribute. Spann was released on his own recognizance, pending his court date, according to police.
