NEW JERSEY - While autumn has officially descended on New Jersey, some residents may be experiencing beach weather on Monday as temperatures are expected to approach the 80-degree mark in parts of the state. The high temperatures will be paired with scattered afternoon and late night showers and thunderstorms, forecasters said.

The National Weather Service noted Monday morning that temperatures “well above normal” are especially likely along and south of the I-95 corridor.

Temperatures are expected to peak around the early afternoon, with areas such as Monmouth and Ocean counties slated to see readings of around 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Cape May and Philly regions could see temperatures around the 75-degree mark, with northern parts of the state to witness a cooler climate between 65 and 75 degrees.
