Two Trenton Men Arrested On Warrants After Visit To Holmdel Best Buy

A call by Best Buy employees in Holmdel to police results in arrests of two Trenton men on warrants from other jurisdictions.

HOLMDEL, NJ — Two men from Trenton have been arrested on warrants from other jurisdictions after employees at the Best Buy in the township called police when the men came into the store.

On Sunday, Sept. 3, at around 5:30 p.m. police received a call from loss prevention employees at Best Buy, 2130 Route 35, regarding the two men being in the store, according to police.

Two township officers, Patrolmen Sasso and DePinho, arrived on scene and saw two people walking away from the store with employees following them, police said.

The men were identified as Clifton Owens, 43, and Jerome Christie, 33, both of Trenton, police said.

Owens was arrested after he was found to be a wanted fugitive from Pennsylvania due to a forgery charge, police said. He was lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending an extradition hearing, they said.

Christie was arrested for an outstanding warrant issued by the Delran Municipal Court, Holmdel police said. He was processed and released as per the court.
