2 Schools Put On Shelter-In-Place After Sparta Police Chase

SPARTA, NJ — Two private schools were put into a shelter-in-place Tuesday after a police chase that ended in a crash in Sparta, police said in a statement.

The chase unfolded on Demarest Road, where police said they spotted a black Mercedes Benz speeding. After authorities failed to stop the car, it continued down the road before crashing near Teck Flex, police said.

The car's occupants fled on foot but were soon caught and arrested, according to police.
