Friends are rallying to support a family grieving over the death of New Jersey man as he was waiting for his sixth child to be born.

They're rallying to support the wife of Christopher Minter, who paid tribute to her husband – the vice president of Component Corporation – by calling him "the love of my life," whom she said she lost "in a matter of minutes."

They're also paying tribute by raising money for the family on GoFundMe, noting Chris, 50, of Vernon died unexpectedly on June 5 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Warwick, N.Y.

"I am going to do everything I can to make you proud and take care of our family," Megan Curran Minter wrote on Facebook. "I don’t know how I will ever be able to do this without you, but so many people loved you and they will be with me every step of the way.

"I will never say goodbye, so until we are together again I will do my best to live every moment for you. I love you."

The GoFundMe page said Chris leaves behind his wife, Megan, and five children; Zack, Hailey, Emily, Christopher and Clayton. Megan is four months pregnant.

The page noted that Chris did not have life insurance, and they lived as a one-income household with a baby on the way and children to care for.

Chris spent his days when he was not working playing golf. However, his true love was his family, the page said.

"His friends and family remember him as a 'funny guy, 'ball-buster' and will always be known to light up any room he walked into," the page said. "There was not one person he couldn’t put a smile on, which is on of the reasons why his wife Megan fell in love with him and his big personality. "

Here are a number of tributes paid to him:

Memorial gifts can be made to the NJ Metro Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Aspen Court Park 1, 1480 US Highway 9 North, Suite 301, Woodbridge, NJ, 07095.
