Headless Horseman, Grim Reaper Trot Through Sparta On Halloween: Pics

Though believed to be the stuff of legend, the "Headless Horseman" and "Grim Reaper" took in a Halloween ride in Sparta.

SPARTA, NJ — Eyes weren’t mistaken when the famed “Headless Horseman” and "Grim Reaper" came galloping through the Lake Mohawk Plaza and other locations in Sparta this past Sunday.

Along with their entourage and part of the Corinthian Equestrian Center of Warwick, New York - going by the nickname of the “Horsemen of the Hollow” - they were given an escort by the Sparta Police Department, then took the opportunity to do a photo-op for Sparta residents on Halloween afternoon.

In a social media post, the Horsemen thanked Sparta Police and also residents of Sparta “for your warm welcome and creepy fun,” calling it the “best Halloween ever.”

Click the video below to watch the Horsemen of the Hollow in action as they galloped on their horses down Winona Parkway and into Lake Mohawk’s Plaza, to the delight of the cheering crowd.

The Horsemen of the Hollow made a stop by the castle-like Lake Mohawk Country Club, where people outfitted in their Halloween costumes, stayed to take photos and pet the horses.
