Hopatcong Classroom Aide Passes Away

Rosemarie Iannuzzi, 66, was well known for teaching students how to knit.

HOPATCONG, NJ — Obituary provided by the William J. Lever Funeral Home:

Rosemarie Iannuzzi, 66, of Mt. Arlington, NJ passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017.

Rosemarie was born on June 15, 1951. She was born and raised in Paterson, NJ. Rosemarie had lived in Hopatcong for over 30 years before recently moving to Mt. Arlington, NJ. After high school she attended nursing school, specializing in the care of children and worked a few years in the field before starting a family. Rosemarie also worked in retail management for over 30 years. Looking to give back to the community, she started a new career as a classroom aide in the Hopatcong School district, a role for which she was quite passionate. She was widely known for teaching students how to knit.

Rosemarie will be remembered as loving, sweet, and selfless. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and always sacrificed her own needs for the good of the family. Rosemarie loved spending time with her family and friends. She made it her mission to put others first and her passion for helping others was inspiring. She exemplified true generosity. Most recently she was knitting scarves and hats for fellow chemotherapy patients. In addition, Rosemarie will be remembered for her strength, for she always preserved in the face of adversity.

Rosemarie is survived by her children, John Iannuzzi and wife Renata Piras, and Dayna Iannuzzi and husband Daniel McNamara, her spouse Jack Iannuzzi, her sisters, Joyce Swartz and Georgette Marchitto, her grandchildren, Michael and Emma Iannuzzi and Emerson McNamara, her aunt Rosalie Holmes, as well as other family members and wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Iannuzzi and her brother, Nicholas Marchitto.

A celebration of Rosemarie’s Life will include a visitation on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. A 11:00 am funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 3 rd at St. Jude Church in Hopatcong, NJ. Interment will follow at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Stanhope, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Dylan Flinchum “Rock On” Foundation, 14 Lenape Drive, Stanhope, NJ 07874 and/or Operation Bling Foundation, 6 South Street, New Providence, NJ 07974.
