Hopatcong Women Completes 100 Mile Ultra-Marathon

The Hopatcong native was successful at her first attempt.

Pamela (Turse) Kropf, a 1995 graduate of Hopatcong High School and 1999 graduate of Quinnipiac University completed her first attempt at the Pine to Palm 100-mile endurance run. Pam’s challenge began 6:00am Saturday morning September 14th, finishing 10:30 am Sunday morning September 15th. The cross-country course, a remote and rugged classic point to point course traversing the Siskiyou; Mountains Range in Southern Oregon. Starting in Williams, OR the course winds its way east to Ashland, OR on a mixture of single-track trail, dirt road, with less than 4 miles of pavement. The course boasts over 20,000ft of climb and 20,000 ft of loss with 3 epic climbs to 7,000ft and fantastic views of Mt Shasta and Mt McLaughlin. Pam completed the challenge with a time of 28 hours, 30 minutes, and 45 seconds, sixth place in the women’s division. Pam currently resides in El dorado Hills California with her husband and two daughters.
