Missing Paddleboarder's Body Recovered From NJ Lake, Officials Say

State Police said the 61-year-old fell off a paddleboard on Friday evening; his body was recovered Sunday.

SANDYSTON, NJ — Search and rescue crews have recovered the body of a 61-year-old New Jersey man who did not resurface after falling into a lake on Friday, state police said.

According to an NJ.com report, Sandyston resident James Lee had been paddleboarding on Kittatinny Lake and fell off the board at around 6:44 p.m. Friday.

He did not resurface, and first responders searched the lake beginning on Friday evening near East Shore Trail in Sandyston, the report said.

Rescue and recovery efforts continued during the daylight hours on Saturday, and crews found Lee's body on Sunday morning, state police confirmed to Patch.
