SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ - Tropical Storm Isaias is making its presence known throughout New Jersey Tuesday as strong winds and heavy rains buffeting the area have closed roads, felled trees, flooded roads and robbed over 24,000 homes of power, according to officials.

According to JCP&L, there are the towns, the number of outages, the number of total customers and the percentage the outages represent as of 2 p.m..

According to the National Weather Service the storm was 70 miles southwest of Philadelphia at 1 p.m., traveling north-to-northeast towards Trenton. Winds continue to be a statewide concern with gusts reaching 50-60 MPH across the state.

A Tornado Watch is in effect until 4 p.m.

The most significant area of concern will be from 1-5 p.m., officials said.

JCP&L are reminding residents not to go near a downed power line, even if you think it is no longer carrying electricity. Extra caution should be used in areas where downed lines are tangled in trees or other debris.
