Morris County Fencer to Represent USA at World University Games

Erin Dietsche will end her first year of college by competing on the global stage.

It didn’t take Erin Dietsche long to make her name known in the world of collegiate fencing.

The standout foil at West Morris Central, who has already competed on the national stage as a teenager, is now headed to a global competition to represent the United States of America.

Less than a year from graduating Central, Dietsche has been competing as a freshman for Notre Dame University, and was recently selected to represent Team USA at the 2015 World University Games, also known as Universiade (a combination of University and Olympiade), which will be held in Gwangju, South Korea in July.

Not only has Dietsche been chosen for the team, she will be a starter on the Women’s Fencing Foil Squad.

Opening ceremony for the games is set for July 3, with the games running through the closing ceremony on July 14.
