Pilot OK After Small Plane Crashes At NJ Airport, Fire Company Says
Photos posted by first responders show the Cessna 150 with its nose crumpled into the grass. The pilot was able to get out safely.
WANTAGE TOWNSHIP, NJ — The pilot of a small plane was able to self-extricate after crashing at Sussex Airport on Tuesday, according to first responders.
Colesville Fire was one of the companies responding to the incident, which happened at about 11:45 a.m. at the one-runway airport in Wantage Township.
The unidentified pilot was the only person on board when the single-engine Cessna 150 crashed, per the Federal Aviation Administration.

The fire company posted photos (see below) showing the plane with its nose crumpled into the ground, and the tail sticking up in the air.
"Units arrived on scene and confirmed a plane off the runway and the pilot was able to self extricate," Colesville Fire Company members said in a social media post.

The FAA will continue the investigation into the crash.
The Sussex Airport is located on County Road 629 in Wantage Township and is home to many single- and twin-engine propeller planes, the Sussex Aviation website states.
