Sparta Hosts Summer's First ‘Movies Under The Stars’ On Saturday

SPARTA, NJ - The first of Sparta’s two free “Movies Under The Stars,” for the summer is planned for Saturday night, with a screening of “Raya and the Last Dragon” at Dykstra Park.

Hosted by the Sparta Parks and Recreation Department, there's no registration needed to come to the show, with the park open for moviegoers at 7 p.m. and the film starting when dusk falls, around 8 p.m. People planning to come simply need to enjoy the show, bringing their lawn chairs and blankets to sit on.

“Tom & Jerry” is the second movie scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 7, at the same time and place.

Should it rain, the date for both of the films is the following Saturday after the originally-scheduled event, with Raya and the Last Dragon’s rain date for July 24 and Tom & Jerry’s on Aug. 14.

A D.J., chances to win prizes, glow sticks and popcorn machine are planned to round out the fun for each of the screenings.
