Three-Peat: Sparta’s Veritas Christian Claims Soccer Championship
Both girls' and boys' teams finished with regular season and tournament titles with senior, Ben Ryan, named league MVP.
Veritas Christian Academy for the third straight year had both the boys and girls soccer team close out the season with a tournament title as Metro Athletic Conference champions. The girls have placed first in the Metro League for four straight years while this marks the third year in a row for the boys team.
The Sparta-based, Christian high school is quietly home to some of the most talented soccer players in the state. Senior, Ben Ryan, won his second league MVP honor for the Metro Athletic Conference, but according to MaxPreps he also ranks #1 in New Jersey for points this soccer season and is tied for first in goals with 26 in just 17 games.
The Veritas girls’ team is not lacking for exceptional talent either. The perennial Metro Athletic Conference champions have two freshman who rank in the top 5 in New Jersey in both points and goals according to MaxPreps. Freshman, Madelyn Seifert, is #1 in the state in points (77) and #2 in goals (30) while freshman classmate, Bella Quinn, is #4 in points (50) and tied for #4 in goals (18). Seifert and Quinn are also ranked #1 and #3 respectively in assists with sophomore teammate, Halle Williamson, ranked #2.

In addition to taking home the championship trophies, the Veritas boys’ team won the Christian Character award while both teams had several players on both teams named as All-Stars including Evan MIlanesi, Gunnar Andersen, Nick Jetton, Jesse Kuiken, Ben Ryan (MVP), Madelyn Seifert, Bella Quinn, Zoe Torppey and Kenzie Morrison. Maggie Dorrity and Tyler Jeltema were also honored in being named to the Christian Testimony All-Star team.
