SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ — Looking for something to do this weekend? Check out this list of goings-on in Sussex County.

Check Out A Live Theater Performance
Cornerstone Playhouse at 74 Main Street in Sussex is hosting both live and virtual performances of “A Step In Time,” featuring Disney favorites. Live showtimes this weekend are Friday, July 9 and Saturday, July 10 at 7:30 p.m. or Sunday, July 11 at 2 p.m. General admission tickets are $20. Other dates are Friday, July 16 and Saturday, July 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday July, 18 at 2 p.m. Streaming shows will be Thursday, July 22 through Saturday, July 24 starting at 7:30 p.m., for $20 for a single ticket and $40 per family. Go To A Concert In The Park
There are several concerts happening this weekend throughout Sussex County. Hopatcong Recreation is hosting its concert on Saturday, July 10 at the Maxim Glen Gazebo from 1 to 3 p.m. with Black Tie Groove. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy free ice cream. Click here for more details.
Sparta Arts is hosting its Summer Concert Series, with Kelly Swindall on Friday, July 9. In great weather, the free concert will be outside at the Dykstra Concert Park from 7 to 10 p.m. In event of rain, it will be indoors at the Mohawk Avenue School. Hardyston Township is hosting its “Concerts in the Park,” on Saturday, July 10 beginning at 6 p.m., free to the public, with “Val and Ken” until 8 p.m. Bring a blanket or chair to sit on. Click here for the full schedule, including the summer movie schedule.
The Shoppes at Lafayette is hosting its free “Music on the Green” from 12-3 p.m. on Sunday, July 11 with the Frost Kings. Bring along a lawn chair and beverage, then take in some shopping and walking around to the Shoppes. Click here for more information and upcoming schedule.
Rain or shine in the Town of Newton’s Memory Park on Saturday, July 10 at 7 p.m. is their “Concerts Under the Stars” series with free admission to “Fillet of Soul,” from 7-9 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Click here for more details.

Watch Performances At The Stanhope House
The Stanhope House on 46 Main Street has something on the outdoor stage all weekend, which will be moved indoors in inclement weather. Featured performers are Billy Hector Band beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, Steve Kimock & Friends on Saturday at 7 p.m., then Stanley Jordan Plays Jimi on Sunday at 3 p.m. on the Beer Garden Stage. Shop At A Farmer’s Market
Sussex County has several community farmers' markets countywide, some making weekly and others twice-monthly appearances every month, with local produce, meats, dairy, honey and other items.
The Sussex County Farmers Market is open at the Fairgrounds, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Why not take in both the farmers market and Rock, Ribs & Ridges at the Fairgrounds on Saturday?
The indoor market, at the Sussex County Fairgrounds, runs every Saturday through October, with local seasonal produce, eggs, meats, dairy, wine and other Jersey Grown and Jersey Fresh offerings.
The Sparta Farmers Market is also on every Saturday at 89 Sparta Avenue, boasting more than 20 local growers, makers, bakers and farmers, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fresh local produce, handmade cheeses, breads, pasture-raised meats, eggs and more are in the market’s lineup.
The Hopatcong Marketplace is another Saturday local market option this weekend, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, located in the Walgreens Shopping Center parking lot at 47 Hopatchung Road. This weekend, the House of Guenther is providing musical entertainment. The Marketplace is a blend of flea market items, from candles to pet products to jewelry to home decor to collectibles to direct sales companies and more. Queen of the Hill Farm, Jersey Pickles, A Slice of New Jersey Pizza, Rita’s Italian ice and the BBQ Pit Catering Company are just a few vendors and eateries that are frequently there. Vernon’s Farmers Market is going on this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the municipal lot on Church Street, with produce, herbs, pickles, baked goods, jewelry soaps and more. For current vendors, visit the market on Facebook.

Catch A Baseball Game
The Sussex County Miners hit the field with home games three times this weekend, playing the Tri-City ValleyCats on Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Grab a bonus fireworks show on Saturday night, with fireworks each Saturday home game at the stadium. Watch Todd “Toddfather” Frazier, former Yankees third baseman who’s playing for the team as training for Tokyo’s Summer Olympics. Grab tickets here.

Cruise Over To A Car Show
Sussex County has two car shows happening on Saturday. Weather-permitting, the Godfather Gang Summer Cruise-In takes place each Saturday outside of Friendly’s in the Hampton Plaza parking lot on Route 206 in Newton, beginning at 2 p.m. and running until sunset. Every week, there are classic cars that cruise in to the lot, bringing music, prizes and fun. Contact [email protected] for more information or visit the car club on Facebook.
Jumboland Saturday Cruise-In is also each Saturday at the Jumboland Diner at 438 Route 206 in Branchville, from 3 p.m. until close with the Sussex County Wanderers Car Club. Each Saturday the car show is on, there's DJ Doc South and a show trophy for autos in the show. Jumboland also has picnic tables and an open air pavilion.
