Veritas Christian Girls Basketball Claim 6th Straight League Title

Veritas girls' and boys' teams finish the season as Metro League regular season champions.

The Veritas Christian Academy girls basketball team is officially a basketball dynasty with its 6th straight year as Metro Conference league and tournament champions. With only one conference loss on their record, over the past half decade plus, the Veritas girls have not only made a habit of winning, but have dominated the league. This past weekend, the Veritas girls capped off a perfect season in the league by defeating American Christian School in the Metro League Tournament Championship Game by a score of 55-43.

Junior guard Caitlin O’Malley took home league MVP honors. Senior, MacKenzie Morrison, and sophomore, Amya Cuddon, were named conference all-stars. Along with the girls, the Veritas boys’ basketball team had all four senior starters named to the all-star team including Evan Milanesi, Nick Jetton, Ben Ryan and Gunnar Andersen. Senior, Zoey Torppey, and sophomore, Wyatt Marine, were also named to the All-Christian Testimony team for their sportsmanship.

The Veritas Christian Academy boys team finished as regular season champions of the Metro League with only one loss in conference play while placing second in the conference tournament.
