HOWELL, NJ — A dump truck driver hit the concrete barrier on Route 9 Thursday, causing the truck to overturn and partially block the road, Howell Township police said Friday.

The crash just after 4 p.m. Thursday shut down part of the road northbound, but there were no serious injuries, Police Chief John Storrow said.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from Freehold, was driving a 1993 Freightliner dump truck registered to V&S Landscaping of Howell north on Route 9, and as he approached West Farms Road, he hit the barrier, Storrow said.
