Vaccinations Offered for Existing Preventable Diseases

Make your appointment to get up-to-date on your immunizations or your child's. Some vaccines are required for students starting school.

The Monmouth County Regional Health Commission No. 1 (MCRHC) is offering vaccinations on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month from 10 am to 1pm.

The world is awaiting a COVID-19 vaccine, however, we cannot move in the wrong public health direction by seeing lower rates of preventable diseases compared to past years. “Vaccines are an essential part of the well-child visit and should continue while local public health agencies implement measures to manage COVID-19” said Health Officer David Henry. “Its even more important during this time to help prevent any individual from acquiring vaccine preventable diseases like measles, meningitis, and tetanus.”

As students are preparing to return to school (whether in-person or virtually) certain vaccinations are required to start school in September. School immunization requirements exist to protect students and members of their community from serious vaccine preventable diseases by ensuring high vaccination rates. All school age children, from preschoolers to college students, should be vaccinated. Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella (chicken pox) are some of the diseases that can be prevented through immunizations. “By keeping your child current on their shots, you are protecting not only their health, but the health of friends, neighbors, classmates and other members of the community” Henry said.
