2nd Eatontown Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash This Week

The men died in two different motorcycle accidents, the first Monday afternoon on Rt. 35 in Shrewsbury, the second was Tuesday on Rt. 18:

COLTS NECK, NJ — A second Eatontown man was killed in a motorcycle crash this week.

The most recent fatal crash occurred Tuesday evening in Colts Neck: At approximately 6:02 p.m. Colts Neck Police responded to Rt. 18 north at milemarker 17.

Police say a 20-year-old Eatontown man was headed north on Rt. 18 when his 2017 Honda CBR motorcycle struck the rear of a 2011 Ford F350 utility truck, driven by a 27-year-old man.

The crash caused the Eatontown man to be ejected. The motorcycle slid to a stop and caught fire.

The Eatontown young man was pronounced dead on the scene at 6:27 p.m. The driver of the utility truck remained on scene and no charges or summonses have been issued.

Just one day earlier, on Monday afternoon, William Eckert III, 54, of Eatontown, was killed on Rt. 35 in Shrewsbury, when he drove his motorcycle into the back of a cargo van at 2:05 p.m. That story: Eatontown Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash Monday
