LONG BRANCH, NJ — On Tuesday, Kushner — the New Jersey real estate company owned by the Kushner family, of which former President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner is a part — announced three new shops are coming to Pier Village in Long Branch this spring.

All three new tenants are scheduled to open by Memorial Day 2022.

Opening later this year at the Shops at Pier Village will be:

  • Gavone’s, a new dining concept from existing tenant Sirena. They will open a small 1,700-square-foot space and sell "fast casual pasta" and Italian dishes.
  • Sundae Donuts: A doughnut and ice cream shop that already has four locations on Long Island. This will be their first outpost in New Jersey.
  • Doggie Sweets: A dog treat cafe and retail store for pets.

Gavone's is a new concept from the operators of Sirena, a luxury Italian restaurant that has called Pier Village home since it first opened there in 2006. Gavone’s signed a lease to open a 1,700-square-foot space that it says will bring "elevated and convenient fast-casual pasta" to the oceanfront destination.

With four locations on Long Island, Sundae Donuts 1,690-square-foot lease will mark the first New Jersey location. The shop specializes in all things sweet with a rotating menu of freshly baked donuts, creative ice creams, donut-infused concoctions, cookie dough and more.

Doggie Sweets is expanding from their website, Doggie Sweets Waggin’, to open a 1,264-square-foot "dog cafe" and retail store, its first.

“We are pleased to welcome these new businesses to The Shops at Pier Village as they will augment the already robust lineup of dining, retail and entertainment businesses calling the property home and further cement its standing as New Jersey’s 'City by the Sea,'" said Nicole Kushner Meyer of Kushner.

Here are the tenants that already call Pier Village home:

Winz Market

The Art of Salad

Branch Cantina

Simply Greek

Tony Boloney’s

McLoone’s Pier House (fine dining, one of the first to open at Pier Village, has been there for more than 15 years.)

Salt Steakhouse (award-winning fine dining)

Avenue Le Club (award-winning fine dining)

Kahuna Burger, an island-inspired burger restaurant created by Tim McLoone’s Restaurants, opened in the fall of 2021 at Pier Village

Retail shops:

Charleston Shoe Co.

Molly and Zoey

Salt Nation Surf Shop

Boardwalk Fun N Games

The developer, Kushner, says that 2.3 million people visit Pier Village each year. Wintertime is usually a "dead" time for the oceanfront boardwalk spot, very popular among Monmouth County locals. In addition to the restaurants and shops, Pier Village has 493 luxury rental apartments, 243 upscale condos and 91 hotel rooms.

“These three new leases with Gavone’s, Sundae Donuts and Doggie Sweets as well as the strong commitment from operators like McLoone’s Restaurants speaks to the continued appeal of Pier Village," said Ryan Starkman, Director at Pierson Commercial who was recently hired as the exclusive retail leasing agent for The Shops at Pier Village. “With strong local demographics and an unmatched location, Pier Village stands out among retail destinations in the state. We look forward to announcing several additional exciting retail leases over the next couple of months.”

Starkman said there are more places to lease at Pier Village and all of them have outside dining options. If interested, contact Starkman at Pierson Commercial Real Estate, 732-707-6900, ext. 5.
