Anthony 'Jr.' Critelli, Former Public Works Director Of Long Branch Dies At 66

Services for lifelong resident will be held on Monday and Tuesday.

Anthony "Jr." Critelli, of Long Branch, died surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. He was 66.

Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident. He was the former Director of Public Works for the City of Long Branch, retiring in 2006. He was an Ex-Captain of the Long Branch First Aid Squad and a volunteer for the Elberon First Aid Squad and the Elberon Engine Company of the Long Branch Fire Dept.

He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Frances "Dolly" Critelli and his brother, Stephen Critelli. Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Donna Astorino Critelli; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Joseph and Tamie Critelli, Brian Critelli, Ronnie and Lori Critelli; a brother and sister-in law, Larry and Michelle Critellli; a sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Lou Sylvester; two sisters-in-law, Linda Critelli and Gail Reichert; and four grandchildren, Rosemarie, Steven, Joseph, Jr. and Nicholas.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 27 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue, Long Branch. The funeral will be held on Tuesday starting at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.to begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
