Things got off to a fast start at 10:30 AM on New Years Day with the annual Reorganization Meeting of the Borough of Eatontown. The entire meeting packet is available at: _01012024-469 (eatontownnj.com)

Highlights included:

The swearing in of new and reelected Council members including Danielle Jones, Candace Faust and Carl Lawson. All were victorious in last November’s general election. Virginia East was unanimously elected Council President and took the oath of office to serve her second year in that position. State Senator Vin Gopal Administered the oaths to all newly elected members.

Fire Department Officers also took their oaths. Chief Tanner Shea, 1st Asst. Chief Alexander Dunn, 2nd Asst. Chief David Alcott, 1st Lt. Bruce McDonald and 2nd Lt. Ken Sneath. First Aid Squad Officers sworn in for 2024 are Captain Garry Cunnings and 1st Lt. Kevin Kawas.

Eatonown Mayor Anthony Talerico welcomed those in attendance and presented the Mayor’s annual address. The Mayor thanked outgoing Council members Mark Regan Jr., Jackie Severinsen and also recognized the contributions of Colonel Everett Lucas who passed away in July of 2022 while serving on the Council. The Mayor also provided brief updates on major projects in the Borough including Fort Monmouth redevelopment, the Monmouth Mall and Old Orchard.
