Daniel A. Dufford, Former Trainer At Monmouth Park In Oceanport, Dies At 66.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the racetrack.

Daniel A. Dufford of Oceanport, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at home. He was 66.

Daniel was born in Jamaica, NY. He was an accomplished thoroughbred racehorse trainer at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport. He has trained many stake winners as well at "Rumptious"; New Jersey Thoroughbred Horse of the Year. Following his training career he moved into the racing office at Monmouth Park, where he started as an official and eventually became stakes coordinator.

He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Margaret Dufford. Surviving is his wife, Charlene; his step-son, Michael Natale and step-daughter, Alyssa Williams; his brother and sister in law, Gerald and Kathy Dufford and their children, Kathleen Menendez and Kevin Dufford; and his sister, Diane Dufford.

Damiano Funeral Home in Long Branch is in charge of the arrangements. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Monmouth Park Racetrack.
