Dr. Warren M. Walkow, Healthcare Clinic Founder, Dies At 73

Services for longtime Long Branch resident, who was a physician, attorney and electrical engineer, will be held today

Dr. Warren M. Walkow died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was 73.

Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Livingston with his family before settling in Long Branch over 15 years ago.

A physician, attorney, and electrical engineer, Warren graduated from Cooper Union, NYU Medical School, and Rutgers Law School. He was the Associate Director of the medical residency program at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. In association with Monmouth Medical Center, he created, founded, and headed a federal healthcare clinic. Warren also held the position of assistant professor of medicine at Drexel University and was an active congregant at Chabad of the Shore in Long Branch.

He honorably served our country as a lieutenant commander and surgeon in the U.S. Public Health Service, a division of the Coast Guard, from 1971-1973. Afterwards, he honorably served in the Coast Guard Reserve.

Surviving is his loving wife of 50 years, Roslyn; a son, Alan; a daughter, Marcy Blank and her husband Jon; four grandchildren: Ben Levine, and Jeri, Samantha and Max Walkow; a sister, Marilyn Lowen; and his mother-in-law, Bertha Rachmiel.

Funeral services willl be held at noon on Tuesday at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 2130 Highway 35, Ocean, NJ. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin.
