Eatontown Park Renamed After Former Mayor Gerry Tarantolo

Eatontown's Husky Brook Park was renamed Gerry Tarantolo Park in recognition of the mayors 40+ years of service to the Borough.

On Saturday July 29, dozens gathered at the former Huskey Brook Park in Eatontown for the renaming of the park to what is now Gerry Tarantolo Park. Former Mayor Tarantolo served the Borough of Eatontown for 40+ years including multiple terms on the Board of Education, Brough Council and 4-terms/16 years as Mayor.

Speakers included current Eatontown Mayor Anthony Talerico Jr., former Neptune Township Mayor Mike Beson (on behalf at State Senator Vin Gopal) and Assemblywoman Kim Eulner. Talerico noted Mayor Tarantolo’s efforts to secure Green Acre’s funds for the purchases of the park as well as listing the various uses and amenities at the park such as a walking trail, playground, exercise equipment and the Eatontown Community Garden. The Mayor also thanked Mayor Tarantolo for “his dedication and commitment to the town”.

Mayo Tarantolo addressed the attendees, thanking everyone present and said that his wife Patricia “has been the centerpiece of my life and has tolerated me for 58 years”. The Mayor thanked everyone that had assisted him over the years and noted that “today is a day I will always remember”.

Those present gathered around at the entrance to the park where the Mayor and his family unveiled the new sign which reads GERRY TARANTOLO PARK.
