Find The Jersey Shore's Best Oktoberfest With Jersey Shore Brew Tours

It's no secret Monmouth and Ocean counties are in the midst of a microbrewery explosion, and this beer crawl takes you to the best:

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — It's no secret Monmouth and Ocean counties are in the midst of a craft brewery explosion, as newcomers like Alternate Ending open inside an old movie theater in Aberdeen, Birdsmouth Beer moves into the abandoned Army barracks grocery store on Fort Monmouth and Twin Lights Brewery just opened this month at Tinton Falls Centre.

This is in addition to the area's longstanding favorites such as Carton in Atlantic Highlands, Belford Brewery in Middletown and Kane Brewing in Ocean Township.

That's why City Brew Tours launched the "Jersey Shore Brew Tour" this summer. City Brews has existed for several years now, but they just started offering the tours in Monmouth and Ocean counties in late August.

"After doing beer and wine tasting tours in other areas, we thought the Jersey Shore was perfect for this type of business," said City Brew Tours owner Darren Blanco. "We have so many great breweries and new ones opening all the time, we thought it was a great way to share these experiences with others."

The company seeks to introduce participants to all the craft breweries that have been popping up in Monmouth and Ocean counties, and meet the owners and brew-masters. These are "all-inclusive brewery tours that blend industry knowledge, round-trip transportation and beer and food pairings throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties year-round."

Some participating breweries include Alternate Ending, Bradley Brew Project, Jughandle, Last Wave, Little Dog, Seven Sons Brewing and The Whitechapel Projects.

Specifically this fall, Blanco said he is looking for the perfect Oktoberfest, "from flavor to color," and will be drinking his way through Monmouth and Ocean counties until he finds it.

Transportation: All tour groups meet at the Spring Lake train station before departing in the CBT Jersey Shore van (which is new, clean and comfortable). They also do brewery tours for private groups, such as company outings, birthday parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties and special occasions.
