EATONTOWN, NJ — First Watch, the popular breakfast/brunch chain, will open a location in Eatontown later this year.

This was confirmed by Eatontown Mayor Anthony Talerico.

A First Watch will open at the corner of Rt. 35 and Wyckoff Road, in the old Toys R Us shopping center. It will be located right next to the Hackensack Meridian Health/Wellness building that just opened there in 2022. This will be the first First Watch location in Monmouth County.

First Watch submitted an application before the Eatontown Planning Board and are scheduled for their first hearing March 4, said Talerico.

Of course, all of this is near Monmouth Mall, which — as we reported — is slated for demolition starting in March.

Monmouth Mall owner Kushner Co. plans to tear down the mall's entire second floor, and turn the whole site into townhouses, with retail and offices, to be re-named "Monmouth Square." Monmouth Square will be a residential complex, with public walkways for strolling and luxury apartments/townhomes built around a center green, which will be open to the public.
