Free Meals For Long Branch Area Kids Are A Text Away

LONG BRANCH, NJ — As schools are getting out the folks at No Kid Hungry are making available breakfast and lunch for school-aged students in various locations throughout New Jersey.

Those in need can simply text "FOOD" to 877877 and type in a zip code when prompted and they receive a message with the closest location where they can get free summer meals.

According to officials, many kids who rely on school meals struggle to get enough to eat during the summer months and No Kid Hungry is combating this with their free summer meal program at schools and community centers.

In the Long Branch area, the nearest summer meals sites are:

LONG BRANCH PUBLIC LIBRARY

• 328 Broadway, Long Branch
• 732-571-2868
• Open July 8 to Aug. 30, Monday through Friday, for lunch/supper at noon

AMERIGO A ANASTASIA SCHOOL

• 92 7th Ave., Long Branch
• 732-571-2868
• Open June 20 to Aug. 31, Monday through Friday, for breakfast at 8:30 a.m., lunch/supper at noon

BUCKY JAMES COMMUNITY CENTER

• 231 Wilbur Ray Ave., Long Branch
• 732-571-2868
• June 24 to Aug. 30, Monday through Friday, for breakfast at 9 a.m., lunch/supper at 12:30 p.m.
