Joseph P. Vifadis Of Long Branch Dies At 36

A Memorial Service is slated for May 13

Joseph P. Vafiadis, 36, of Long Branch, died on May 2, 2017 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch.

Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident of Monmouth County. Joe was a clerk at Stop and Shop in West End. Joe's most enjoyable moments were spending time with his girls, whether that be teaching them how to pitch or playing silly games while jumping on the trampoline. Joe's hobbies involved playing basketball with his friends, lifting weights and any kind of friendly competition.

He is survived by his daughters, Chloe and Lilly Vafiadis and their mother, Stacey Hurden; his father, Dane Vafiadis; his mother and stepfather, Karen Bonforte and Paul Dluhi; his sister and brother-in-law, Kelly Vafiadis and Steven Rodriguez; his step-sister, Lindsay Anderson and step-brother, Jesse Faasen; his grandparents, Byron and Hilda Vafiadis; his nephew, Alex; his nieces, Ava, Aubri and Kayla, as well as several loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, May 13 from 12 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2:30 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. in Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations made in Joe's name to Searchlight Church in care of Jim Bova, 24 Dwayne St., Oceanport, NJ 07757.
