Many people drown on the Jersey Shore every summer. A young man just drowned May 4 at Spring Lake. Nearly all drowning deaths occur on beaches where lifeguards are either not yet on duty for the season, or drownings occur in the early morning or evening when lifeguards have not started yet or left for the day.

Besides guarded swimming, Seven Presidents also offers family-friendly amenities including a playground, volleyball court, snack bar and the Skateplex.
