Long Branch Historical Society Announces Fall Schedule Of Events

All events are free of charge and will be held at the Long Branch Free Public Library.

LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Long Branch Historical Association will be holding three free events at the Long Branch Public Library this fall.

On Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m., Rutgers professor Daniel Weeks will be signing copies of and talking about his new book, “Nearer Home: Short Histories of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

Jesse Novak, the author of “Spicing Without Fear” and former owner of Jesse’s Café in Long Branch, will be speaking about his cookbook, “Ahead of Our Time: The Long Branch Whole Food Movement,” on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m, Charlie & Pamela Horner will be hosting a signing and a presentation of their book "Springwood Avenue Harmony: The Unique Musical Legacy of Asbury West Side 1871 - 1945," which contains stories of the early years of black music from Long Branch, Asbury Park, and surrounding areas.
