Jersey Shore Triple Shooting Suspect Caught, Charged With Murder

ASBURY PARK, NJ — A 19-year-old Long Branch man is charged with murder in the shooting of three men last summer in Asbury.

One of the men died.

Michael Sally of Long Branch is charged with murder in the first degree, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, gang criminality, two counts of aggravated assault, illegal gun offenses and receiving stolen property.

Police say he had an underage teen accomplice who was not named but was similarly charged.

The fatal shooting happened shortly after 10:30 p.m. July 3, 2023 in the Asbury Park Gardens apartment complex on Atlantic Avenue. Police responded to gunfire and found three men had been shot. A fourth man was the intended target of the shooting, but he had not been hit in the bullet spray.

All three were rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Lativity Lyons, 21, of Asbury Park, died there just moments later, at 10:50 p.m.

Nearly a year later, Sally was arrested in Long Branch Wednesday and charged with the murder.
