Long Branch Man, Woman Found With Heroin, Police Charge

SECAUCUS, NJ — A Long Branch man and woman were arrested at a North Jersey Walmart Saturday, after police said they tried to shoplift, and the woman had heroin on her.

James Cogan, 38, and Laryssa Rodrigues, 25, both of Long Branch, were arrested at 10:06 p.m. Saturday inside the Walmart in Secaucus, Hudson County.

They both were charged with shoplifting and conspiracy.

The woman, Rodriguez, was also charged with possession of CDS [2C:35-10a(1)], believed to be heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Both were taken to the Hudson County Jail.
