LONG BRANCH, NJ — The Santander bank branch at 600 Broadway in Long Branch closed April 27, according to Santander Bank corporate offices.

This was first disclosed in this list, released April 29, from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of Currency that lists dozens of bank branches across the U.S. that are closing.

A Santander corporate spokeswoman confirmed it closed two branches in New Jersey, in Long Branch and Towaco in Morris County.

Santander said the Broadway location closed April 27 and they are directing customers to use the next nearest location at 241 Monmouth Road in West Long Branch.

All the bank closures across the nation come at a time when fewer and fewer customers are using brick-and-mortar banks, preferring online banking instead. Wells Fargo announced this week they are closing 17 branches nationwide, including one in Highland Park, NJ.
