Oceanfest

Where: Long Branch's oceanfront

When: July 4, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., fireworks at 9 p.m.

Oceanfest is one of New Jersey's biggest 4th of July celebrations. It's an all-day, family-friendly festival with the sights, sounds and sensations of summer. There's food, crafts, entertainment and more.

5th Annual Poetry Festival at Pier Village

Where: gazebo on the Boardwalk

When: 10 a.m. to noon July 4

Stop by and enjoy poetry readings from several authors.

4th of July Ocean Swim

Where: Pier Village, 1 Chelsea Ave.

When: 5:45 a.m.
