Man, 68, Hit And Killed Crossing Street In Ocean Twp.

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 68-year-old man was hit by a car and killed Tuesday evening in Ocean Township, said Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago.

This happened at 5:49 p.m. on West Park Avenue: Police say the man was trying to walk across West Park Avenue when he was struck by a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, headed west.

The driver, a 53-year-old man, was entering the center lane of traffic when the crash took place. He remained at the scene.

The pedestrian was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where later that evening he was pronounced dead at 8:32 p.m.

No charges have been filed, but anyone who witnessed anything is asked to call Detective Kristian DeVito at 800-533-7443 or Ocean Township Police Department Officer Ryan Krug at 732-531-1800.
