Michael John Baker was an old-school Long Branch guy who will be sadly missed by everyone who had the privilege and pleasure to know him. Michael died on May 29. He was 52.

Michael had a salty streak, a lovable sense of humor, and a sparkle in his Irish blue eyes. If he wasn't cooking up a storm while making cocktails for everyone, he could be found at the beach. Mike was a one-of-a-kind who had a heart of gold.

Mike was predeceased by his mother, Marianne Kissinger. The suddenness of his tragic passing, the result of an automobile accident, leaves an incredible abyss in the hearts and lives of all who knew him; just knowing him, people loved him.

His absence from their days will be deeply felt by his brothers, Joseph M. Baker of Keansburg, and Matthew J. Baker, of Long Branch, and by his niece, Jacqueline Baker and his nephew, Joseph M. Baker, Jr., both of Keansburg; also by a countless number of those who were blessed to have shared his journey, whether briefly or lifelong.
