EATONTOWN, NJ – The Monmouth County SPCA has received a $1 million donation from long-time patron Sheldon Vogel.

Vogel and his late wife, Anne, funded the Vogel Spay/Neuter Clinic and supported the expansion to the Vogel Veterinary Care Center. Since 2020, the VVCC has seen over 8,000 appointments and has performed 6,094 surgeries for both shelter animals and owned pets.

The donation will allow the SPCA to expand with updated exam rooms, more efficient diagnostic equipment and improvements to the current layout.

This expansion will increase the number of community pets and families served simultaneously along with Monmouth County SPCA shelter animals.

"Thanks to the support of the Vogels, our shelter has grown from a beloved grass roots organization to a leading resource for animal welfare in the state," said Ross Licitra, Executive Director of the Monmouth County SPCA, in a prepared statement.
